Creating a new Product

You can create a new product(Product + SKU) in Primaseller through one of the following methods

This article deals with the first method mentioned above.

You can also update key product information such as price, inventory, etc while creating a product individually in Primaseller.

Creating a Product

  • From your Primaseller admin, go to Catalog >> Master catalog >> Products.
  • From the Product page, Click Add new product.

Step 1: Product Creation

  • Fill up the Product Name, Product Code, Material and brand.
  • You can create a new category from this page, in case your product does not belong to any of the categories listed.
  • In measurement mode, you can either measure the units by Unit quantity or Fractional.
  • If you have enabled warranty in settings, then you can enable Has warranty if this product has a warranty.
  • If you have enabled batching in settings, then you can enable Inventory Batching if the product has batching.
  • If your Product needs Serial Numbers to be captured during invoicing (usually applicable to electronics) then you should enable the “Needs Serial Numbers” field.
  • If you have configured variation in settings by adding the variation parameters (Ex: size – M, L, XL etc ) then, you can enable The product has more than one variant accordingly. If your Product has variants, add variation parameters and select the valid values for your variations.
  • You can also add new Tag for this product from this page or you can select the tag you had updated in the settings page.
  • You can upload images using dropbox. Uploading images through Google drive is currently unavailable
  • Click on Create Product.

Step 2: SKU Creation

Once a Product is created, depending on whether there are Variations or not, you will need to create SKUs.

At this stage you will need to add a valid SKU Code, Barcode and Pricing information to create the SKUs.

If the Product has variations, you will need to add multiple SKUs for each combination of variation parameters.

Product and SKU Post-Creation Data

Once you Create the Product and SKU, you will see the Product Detail page with details that you have entered along with multiple tabs that give the overall picture of the product in Primaseller.

SKUs

  • If the product has variation

Then, under the SKU tab all the variant SKU’s will be visible you can update the manufacturer code, Default pricing and tag. Once the information is provided click on Save the changes.

  • If the product doesn’t have variation

Then, you can update Default pricing, Manufacturing code and tags. Once the information is provided click on Save the changes.

Inventory

You can first select the facility and then add the inventory here or you can bulk upload an inventory upload file.

  • If the product has variation

In Inventory Tab select All facility and here you can check the stock for all SKU in all your facility or select a particular facility and you can check stock for all the SKU’s in that facility. You can also edit the inventory by clicking on view for that SKU or you can bulk upload an inventory upload file.

  • If the product doesn’t have variant

The inventory details will be visible here and you can edit the inventory by clicking on view and visiting the inventory overview page. You can also bulk upload an inventory file.

Pricelist

Priclelist tab will show the details of different price list for that product. For more details about picelist click here.

Online channel Catalog

The online channel Catalog tab will show all the channels this SKU is listed on.

Operation Attributes

  • If the product has variation

In the Operation Attributes tab, you can view or Bulk edit all the variants product and package dimensions. You have the option to choose any length unit or weight units of your choice.

  • If the product doesn’t have variation

You can update dimensions for the products and package. You have the option to choose any length unit or weight units of your choice.

Purchasing

In the purchasing tab, you can view suppliers to which the SKUs are mapped along with more details from the supplier catalog. These entries can also be edited from Purchasing -> Supplier Catalog.

Custom Field

If you have added a custom fields setup for SKUs from your settings, then data for these custom field can be edited and reviewed from here.
